My Brother Forever

Today in 1968 my brother Gerald was killed in Vietnam, on the first day of tha Tet Offensive, at the Saigon airbase. But I celebrate his life today. He loved Jesus, and just beamed when he talked about him- like the time he walked me home from school when on furlow, before shipping out to Nam. It was the best day of my life for ao many years. It’s still up there in the top three. He was extatic to hear I had been saved that summer at VBS. That walk home had to last me, up to now, 43 yrs.  But I know I will see him soon! Come Lord Jesus, and I say come! Blessings, and love those you have today with a fervent love! Robin

  1. Robin, what a wonderful tribute to your brother and the love he had for His saviour. Just think, one day soon you will rise and meet with him. What a day that will be! He is there waiting for you, and I’m sure his only question to you will be…what took you so long sis? He’s saving you a seat at the great feast table beside him, and cant wait to show you around those streets of gold! How blessed you are to know he was a Christian. So many of us loose loved ones and we are never quite sure where their destiny lies. You have a peace knowing that he waits for you there in heaven. God Bless You Robin, thanks for sharing from your heart. Hugs to you~~ Nonni

  2. Robin,
Words cannot express how these words display such love, respect, and honor for your brother, who gave the greatest price for his brothers – us, his life.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

    Thank you for sharing. bb

  3. Thanks guys, and Nonni. I appreciate being here for this day…Loved all your kind words to me, and for Gerald’s service. What a hole it left in our lives. But as I get older, I look forward with more excitement for getting to see Gerald, Dad, my lil son Caleb, lost early in pregnancy. My Uncle Tommy, and Aunt Della, and all those folks … Now I pray for my Mom, and others in my family who are still here, and are not saved. I appreciate if you would pray for my lost family members.

Now getting ready for this 2,100 ,mile winter storm sweeping us and up the easy coast! Biggest one yet affecting millions. They’re saying…Just stay home! And I’m all set up, and freezing rain is starting now. Phew made it in time, ty Jesus. He does provide. :) Blessings
