Wearing Sneakers Without Socks

A poem I wrote some time ago….

Sometimes things aren’t as they seem

Others an open book

And those times we shake our heads

To take a second look

On the surface without a clue

The crowd still often talks

And judge by what they think they smell

Wearing sneakers without socks

In blogs like this we share our lives

And offer just a peek

To what and how and who we are

A glimpse at what we seek

You and I so much alike

I think the sharing rocks

Yet everything is not how it smells

Wearing sneakers without socks

In this life we sometimes fail

For me I know that’s true

And if your honest with yourself

The same applies to you

Before I try to judge your heart

In your shoes I’ll take some walks

And realize I smell just as bad

Wearing sneakers without socks.

“Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.” Rom 2:1

  1. Something like……don’t judge until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes? Great post Rocky….How true it is and how often we forget…to quick to judge others when we ourselves need to take a good look inside!
Hey! I think I used to own a pair of sneakers just like that! (Mine were pink though)

  2. Yes, I agree, great message, and poem… I’ll add, sometimes we can’t even imagine what someone is going through, nor can we walk in their shoes. So, lots of Grace is needed between us all. :) Blessings
